An implant-supported over-denture is used when the goal is to stabilize and improve the retention and stability of a removable denture.
The implants also reduce bone resorption which takes place following the loss of a tooth or teeth.
Once the implants that have been placed in the jaw have healed either a bar or a ball attachment appliance will be screwed to the implants and the denture will clip onto these components. The result is a much more stable and comfortable implant-supported removable overdenture.
This denture can be detached easily for cleaning.
